Kolkata
The capital of West Bengal Kolkata formerly known as Calcutta was the capital of India during the time of East India Company.

Known to be one of the most culturally enlightened city and having produced the highest number of literary and culturally known personalities in India it is also considered to be the Cultural Capital of India.

Known as the birth place of Rabindra Nath Tagore, Amartya Sen, Satyajit Roy Kolkata has a few residences of these great people which one should on top priority include in their visit list. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport is where one lands when coming to Kolkata. The International flight services are yet not that developed it has mainly international airways like AirAsia, Emirates and Air India which has services to and from Kolkata. However, soon many others will be connecting base with this airport. However, its domestic wing is very active and has huge number of domestic flight services, namely Jet Airways, IndiGo and many others.

Kolkata is concerned to have the best public transportation. Starting from the metro service to buses to rent a cab to prepaid taxis one can travel in the city through a number of transport modes.
