Air Asia India started its operations in India on 14th June 2014 as a joint venture of TATA Sons and Air Asia Investment limited holding. Air Asia has its primary hub at Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore. And currently operating to 21 destinations in India.
It Operates 100 Daily Flights to these destinations from its primary hub at Bangalore and secondary hubs at Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport Mumbai and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport Kolkata.
Air Asia Operates to 21 destinations within India with its fleet of Airbus A320 aircrafts:-
Visakhapatnam, Guwahati, Chandigarh, Delhi, Dabolim, Ahmedabad, Srinagar, Ranchi, Kochi, Indore, Mumbai, Pune, Imphal, Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Chennai, Hyderabad, Agartala, Kolkata, Siliguri, and Bangalore.
Air Asia India Flights operate from Terminal T3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Majorly all International flights operate from Terminal T3 of Delhi however, Air Asia is one of the airlines which operates its domestic flights from Terminal T3.
Air Asia has its “Freedom Flyer Program” which rewards its members on redeeming the earned points. Air Asia Passengers can earn points while travelling in any of AirAsia Group Airlines. There are 4 types of membership Red, Gold, Platinum and Black.
Air Asia India Offers only Economy class of service in all of its flights to 21 destinations in India. However, passengers can avail the Add on Options to get more in their journey with Air Asia India allows passengers to carry 7kg of Cabin baggage and 15kg of Check-in baggage as complimentary but with add on options passengers can buy more baggage allowance during their booking with Air Asia India. Passengers travelling in Air Asia are allowed to bring up to 15kg in check-in baggage and dimensions not exceeding 319cms. However, it is based on the fare type as well in which they are travelling as Air Asia Offers Add on packages like Value Pack and Premium Flex options, which gives more baggage allowances along with other features.
Each individual bag should not weigh more than 32kgs limit. Also, passengers can bring as many bags they want until it comes within their allowed check-in baggage limit.
Excess baggage charges will be applicable as per airport excess baggage fee.
Passengers of AirAsia India are allowed to carry 2 pieces of cabin baggage while travelling. However, the total weight of both pieces should not exceed 7kgs.
Passengers are allowed to carry one Cabin Baggage with Maximum dimensions up to 56cm (Height) + 36cm (Width) + 23cm (Depth) as it must fit into the overhead compartment of the Aircraft.
Apart from Cabin baggage passengers can carry an additional hand bag or ladies’ bag or laptop bag and must not exceed the dimensions of 40cm (Height) + 30cm (Width) + 10cm (Depth).as it must fit under the seat in front of your seat.
Passengers carrying more baggage then the baggage allowance limit, can pay for excess baggage charges at the Check-in Counter, typically Go Air Charges Rs. 300/- per kg for excess baggage. And it can only be given in Check-in Baggage not at hand baggage. (applicable on Domestic Flights)
